Over 14000 runs and 800 wickets in this picture alone...

The top 10 batsmen remained the same for another year, and it probably won’t change for another few years yet.

And so when the all time averages are all added up there are some nice surprises and some great things to look forward to.

On the BOWLING front, Drew and Tim remain streets clear at the top of the table. Will Marc Robinson’s legs last long enough for him to overhaul either of these club legends? At the current rate, possible around the year 2020. Get the Champagne on ice!

With Gary Skinner in self-imposed exile, Andy Milner, Zaf Shah and Raz Khan are the only other current players who have topped 100 wickets. But all are a long way from breaking into the top 10 wickets takers of all time (250+ wickets). Even if all 3 of these lads overs and wickets are added together they don’t bear Curly on his own!

Further down the table,. there are a lot of milestones about to be celebrated in 2016. Maz, Brendan, Phil, Rainey and Waheed are all closing in on 100 career wickets. Even Sean and Majid could reach the magical number if they have a great season. 30+ wickets is not beyond anyone.

Sean Lindsay set a new personal best in 2015 as did Ronesh, Jason P and Brett Harvey and Jack Lee, Jeremy Riddleston and Sam Stabler, of the players who have been with us for more than a season. Also Ronesh, Jason, Benn Glazier and Tony Mac reached a half-century of wickets. Well done fella’s.

Of the people approaching the big 5-0 the closest are Tom Watson (41) and Ajay (40), whilst Charlie Bennett, Neil Raithatha and Rushil Sharma are all in with a shout if they have a decent 2016. We could be drinking a lot of jugs of beer....

On economy rates, it’s clear that scores and scoring rates are increasing over the years as it’s hard to find anyone with a rate below 3, of the modern-day players. Maz Shah with 3.1 and Majid Khan and Jack Lee with 3.2 are the closest whilst Meraj Zia has done well over a smaller number of overs to hit 3.0. The largest run concessions are always the leg-spinners and this fate befalls Tony Mac, Rory Cusack and Atul Patel all of whom go for more than a run a ball. The best wicket to overs averages belong to Majid Khan and Brendan Lindsay.

On the BATTING front, notable achievements in 2015 were perhaps topped by Neil Burdett playing his 800th game for the club. Only 3 other players have played even half that number. An astonishing record that will probably never be broken. As his his record of 139 not-out’s. The top 10 batsmen remained the same for another year, and with Curly some 755 runs behind Andy Molloy in 10th, it probably won’t change for another few years yet.

What we can look forward to is, if they have a good 2016, 9000 runs for Blackie, 1000 runs for Benn Glazier and Eugene Flynn and 500 runs for a whole host of players including Billy, Jason, Adeel, Joe, Anwar, Asim and Naveed.

Congratulations meanwhile to Raz Khan (2500), Ben Soames (2000) and Vish Rathi, Ajay Thaker and Waheed Mahroof (1000) runs.Majid, Adeel, Mitch and Kamran all made it over the 500 mark – Adeel and Mitch in just the one season!

I am sure it was an honour for those of you who witnessed the personal bests in 2015 of

Ben Soames 118*
Mitch Rosam 91
Adeel Usman 84 (twice)
Majid Khan 80
Waheed Mahroof 80
Bobby Shome 79
Dave Cooper 75
Kamran Shah 66
Asim Butt 57
Prasanth 54
Owen Blackwell 53
Ameed Hanif 52
Raunak Khanduja 50
Scott Jackson 48
Sam Stabler 44
Tom Watson 39
Ed Manning 35
Brett Harvey 33
Naveed Mahroof 32
Richard Harwood 30
Alex Lee 21

And that’s a wrap. Thanks for reading ...thanks especially for playing! and here’s to some more record-breakers in 2016. I can’t wait.
