statistically speaking

As the season draws to a close, it seems 2017 has been a bit of a vintage year. In record-breaking terms that is. And a lot of personal achievements and PB's have been recorded.

The 1st XI saw a partnership of 178 and another of 172, both of which were just short of the all-time records going back to the 1880's. And some of the scores posted by the 1st XI were certainly amongst the highest in recent times. Bobby's run scoring exploits in the 2nds will certainly feature in the league handbook next year, whilst in the 3rds the efforts to bowl sides out cheaply were sometimes matched by similar collapses of our own. Not a vintage year for the batsman. The 4ths struggled through much of the season, after being top of the table after 2 weeks, but they also produced some good individual performances.

In the 4th team Congratulations to :
Alex Lee with two half centuries for the club including a best of 67
Prasanth Subramanian for a new best of 59
Sam Doyne 48
Rushil Sharma 30
Ken Brown 22*
Harry Iles 6-19
and Jon Wood 3-10

In the 3rd team:
Oz Ali doubled his previous best with 72 (and his first half-century)
Roshan Abraham 55 (his first 50 for the club)
Lekshay Desai 50
Rishi Mahadik 43
Rohan Mahadik 35

For the 2nd team other personal bests for the club were:
Bobby's 5-10
Bobby's 115 (and 2 centuries in a season)
Kamran Shah 75
Kasser Abbas 70
Naeem Khan 57

Whilst new top achievements in the 1st XI were:
Waqas Choudhry 165
Taz Shehabi 122
Tahir Hussain 68 (first half-century by a 14 year old in the 1st XI)

So who, finally, broke through the hundreds and thousands in wickets and runs. Many, many congratulations to the following players for a fantastic milestone in their Ricky career - so far:-

BEN ALNUTT for reaching 3000 career runs (3,040)
TAZ SHEHABI for reaching 1000 runs, and 1500 runs! (1,561)
BOBBY CHAUDHRY for also doing the double of 1000 and 1500 runs (1650)
RONESH NATHWANI 1000 runs for the club (1007)

ANDY MILNER 200 wickets (205) only the 12th player to reach 200 wickets since 1985
AMIT PAU joins the 100 wickets club (105)
MAJID KHAN also joins the 100 club (121)
WAHEED MAHROOF brings his 100 wickets up also (106)

There are plenty of players within a few runs or wickets of a milestone in 2018. I look forward to celebrating with everyone above on breaking new records and look forward to lots more to come
