Lets go

Christmas is just round the corner and I hope the budding Cricketers in your family get some things they want. I was hoping for an England win in India, but I don’t think Santa will deliver this year. Whether Christmas is your thing, or you celebrate other festivals, I hope you all have some family time over the break.

Talking of breaks, ours is almost at an end. We start again with indoor Cricket sessions on Thursday 5th January 2017 at Rickmansworth School as before. Juniors 5.55pm - 6.55pm, and Seniors 6.55 - 7.55pm. £5 per session, just like last year, or £50 for a ‘season ticket’.

Juniors are boys and girls from Year 3 to Year 5 with an incrediball, and years 6 to 9 with a hard ball. Years 10 and above join in with the Senior sessions. Dad’s are welcome to stay for the Seniors sessions as well.

Unfortunately my job has changed somewhat and I am now in Europe for much of the time. So I can’t always be there, but I will have some of the Team Manager’s along, as well as some coaching assistance. If any parents reading this would like to offer assistance I would be delighted to accept the help. Please let me know. It’s all about doing things safely.

In April we start outdoors again. We have the following teams confirmed:

U14 (2 teams) – Year 9 plus some Year 7 and 8 as well
U13 – Year 8 and some Year 7
U12 – Year 7 and some Year 6
U10 – Year 5 and Year 4 (incrediball team)
U9 – Friendlies this year – Year 4 and Year 3 team

Once again I am delighted that we have more than our fair share of talented boys chosen to represent the Club in County, Area and District sides for 2017. And others who have chosen the Charley Cricket sessions. For me the key is that the boys enjoy themselves. This season, in adults Saturday Cricket, current and recent Colts players took over 50 wickets and scored over 750 runs. And the Dads didn’t do too badly either, scoring 899 runs. Lets try and make it 1000 this year.

I look forward to seeing you all in January and please do let me know if I can help in any Cricketing way.
