RCC 106/3 Abbots 72/7 RCC win by 34 runs

After last weeks close game against West Herts, Ricky's finest took on a crack team of County boys and others from Abbots Langley. Despite a lower average age, Ricky went into the game with heaps of confidence and it showed when Alex Lee struck some lovely shots to make 14 runs in the first 2.5 overs. The Abbots boys were clearly nervous and bowled a lot of wides, which, when added to 15 from Harvey Blackwell enabled Ricky to keep the scoring rate going. Mitchell Rose and Lewis Green also got amongst the runs, and by not losing wickets Ricky were able to post the highest score of the League so far.

Abbots then batted, and despite a good run out by Alex Lee in the 4th over, Abbots were ahead of the scoring rate at 35/1 after 4 overs. However young Alex again showed why he is possibly one of the most promising youngsters Ricky have, with an over that took out both of the best Abbots players. Mitchell Rose, with the sweetest swing bowling action in the club, then also grabbed two wickets, both bowled, to reduce Abbots to 40/5. Christian Frater took a great caught and bowled to remove County U13 batsman player Adam (2 years his elder) and Lewis Green, who had kept superbly behind the stumps, had an over and garnered a catch taken in the deep by Harvey as the abbots players went for boundaries. Alex returned to take one more wicket as a convincing win was secured by the boys in green and gold.

Next week it's Watford Town.
