Tim Molly was purring like a well fed cat at the state of the pitch
- Rob Riddleston

The new season is rapidly approaching and I popped down on Saturday morning (briefly in between my Hockey duties) to the Club to give a small hand in helping clearing up. Tim Molly was purring like a well fed cat at the state of the pitch and outfield which was firm , well cut and looking fantastic for early April. The late winter and spring weather has been kind and not an errant wild animal in site.

You will be glad to know that there are no changes to the Laws although a number of changes come in from October so more on that in 12 months time !

The League regulations are basically the same as last year although in the lowest leagues it will now be a 40 over games in the Regional leagues i.e. for the 4th team at Ricky.

This year I will be on the Hertfordshire Umpires Panel again but will be around to help out umpiring the friendly games pre league season.

Its a long time since I last put on a white coat at the end of last season but Herts ACO run a number of courses and CPD events to keep us all fresh and up to date.

Last season was a frustrating one for the 1st team and with another relegation this gives the team a great opportunity to start winning games and get back up the pyramid. Good to luck to new Captain and all the players.

Enjoy the season

Rob
