What a great Saturday set of performances and i see that your Chairman is purring like an over fed moggy lying beside a roaring fire.

The 1st team won a game with a great team effort and Mitch starring with the bat and Phil with the ball. The 2nd team had a hard fought draw at Watton with Raunak hitting a debut 50 in senior cricket on his senior debut. Blackies report is great to read.

Last week i mentioned women as a theme – steady boys. This week it is youth. Sport is about ensuring young people learn and play a sport and then enjoy competing as they develop into adult games. Its great to see this happening at Ricky and I know that there are some great young players starting to force there way into the senior teams. This is the way forward and the mix of youth and experience is a fantastic combination. Do I hear myself saying “you will never win anything with kids”?

The Clubhouse was busy over the weekend with some very thirsty hockey players who ensured plenty of money crossed the bar for the Sportsclub.

Finally a word of support to those who are fasting at the moment – in this weather with short nights it must be very hard work playing cricket.
