It seems to me as if we have one nice Saturday followed one with lots of rain but that did seem to stop the the 2nds playing to a result last week! My game at Kings Langley lasted the grand total of 6.2 overs.

For us umpires the new Law changes , amended Match Regulations and new disciplinary code set out in Law 42 has meant lots of homework during the winter to deliver a consistent approach for players in the new season. Certainly my Cricket cabinet at home is brimming with new information , laws , presentations and umpires cards.

I have been delighted this season to be promoted to the Premiership Panel in Herts meaning I will be umpiring Championship and Div 1 games to keep on testing me which is what we all want in sport.

I have finished working with Barclays with the aim of slowing down a bit by undertaking some Consultancy and NED work . This gives me a bit more time midweek and I was delighted to help out with the U9s in their game on Monday against Chorleywood. Pleased to say we did not need any reviews on the big screen or DRS.

A great 1st week at RCC with 4 out of 4 wins - when did that last happen? Good to see Ricky putting out 4 teams as several clubs are not able to put out their lowest teams. The next step of course is to get the 1st team promoted and back into the higher echelons of the Saracens leagues.
