The Riddler's view from the middle

New League format and teas
- Rob Riddleston, Club Umpire

Saturday saw the start of the league season and the new Limited Over format.

I was at Northchurch for my panel game where it worked really well
with a tight and exciting finish. Chatting in the bar back at Ricky I
understand it was well received by the players I spoke to over a pint.

The new fielding circles , 10 over bowler restriction and one day wide interpretation were easy to administer and did not cause any
issues. There was a nice buzz around the bar as I know that all the teams enjoyed their games - win or lose.

Sunday saw me stand with the Colonel in a Herts U13 game at Old Owens against London Schools. It was a fantastic standard with the bat , ball and in the field. It was good to see Ricky was also represented with one of the Herts players from Ricky with Raunak bowling some tidy overs..

One of the pleasures of cricket is the pleasure of sampling teas from around the county. So far this year Northwood Town and Old Owens currently in my top two. What is your favourite mid innings cuisine
venue?
