U10s start League campaign with a win

Although the scores made it look a close run thing, for large parts of the game, Ricky played superior Cricket and were the better team.

It helped having Aman back available as he is very experienced and simply bigger and stronger than many of his peers. This was evident as he crashed his way to 24 in the first 4 overs, well supported by debutant Archie. Despite a run out they made +29 together, whilst Radlett bowled very tightly. One back foot drive for 4 by Aman was worthy of a mention. Sublime! George and Dawson (also his first game for Ricky and resplendent in all-white) put on another 17 together. And no wickets.

At the halfway stage and 51/1, Ricky were looking to top 100. However the returning 'better' Radlett bowlers were able to keep the usually irrepressible Ozzy down to 7 runs whilst he and Sam added 12 to the total. Sam was very sensible in his shot play considering he also was playing his first game for the club. Max (guess what - yes another debutant), scored 7 including a max-power 4 to the boundary and he and Dishan (a veteran of 2 games!) added another 14. 77 should be defendable.

Our start to the bowling was much better than Radletts with Dishan getting a wicket and Sam, Ozzie and Dawson all conceeding very few runs. 12/1 after 4. The remaining bowlers were also good, and Radlett could only score 29 after all of our bowlers had finished one over, and we had not conceded a boundary thanks to smart fielding too.

The 3rd pair of batters for Radlett did well and took the score up to 50/2. 28 needed by the last pair. After some tight bowling, Radlett needed 12 off the last over and Dishan bowled it well to concede just 6 for a mighty win.

Well done to all the participants. As usual - no man of the match as we believe everyone plays their part in a team effort.
