RCC lost the toss on a gluepot of a wicket to Wendover. Incessant showers and rain throughout the morning led to a slow start and early wickets for RCC, reducing them to 9/2. However, a strong partnership between Danny Bagley (30) and Marty Jaynes (44) brought some respectability to the innings, and with a late 26 from Ash Shah, RCC finished all out for 145 of 34.4, out a rain reduced 35.
The going was slow for Wendover after the ground was subjected to a hail storm at tea. After 10 overs, they were without loss for 20. Matty Scales with his first over for the club bowled some long hop leg breaks but found a break through. Wendover kept just below the required run rate and even with some lusty late order hitting couldn't quite get on top. Consecutive run outs in the second last over closed the door on what could have been a last over steal - Wendover kept to 130/9 with wickets shared by all bowlers.
