Our first game in Division 7B is against local rivals Bushey CC 2nd XI. Bushey topped the table after 5 games last year, winning 4, every time from a position of batting first. Clearly a side that likes to have runs on the board. However they will be cautious of a Rickmansworth side that also won 4 of the first 5 games last season before falling away and winning just one of the remaining 12 to end up getting relegated. On winning the toss last year Bushey chose to bat first on all but one occasion, and that time, batting 2nd, they fell to a heavy 100 run defeat to Old Owens. So the omens point to whoever wins the toss will choose to bat on what will be a firm wicket and quick outfield.
Ricky go into the game fresh from a decent win last match against Northwood Town in a friendly and with a number of players displaying some form. Hampered by not having Alex and Jack Lee available for selection, Ricky have plumped for some experienced replacements in Ben Alnutt and Amit Pau. The gloves will be taken by regular from last year Dave Cooper.
One thing that can be certain is that the game will be played in good spirit between two sets of players who know each other well. And the sun will shine.
