For Week 3, Rickmansworth take on Stevenage 3rds at home. Stevenage will love playing on a big clubs main wicket, with covers etc., whilst their playing staff will be made up of the usual older players coming down and younger players coming up. A bit like Radlett last week. However Stevenage have 6 teams in the League so this team will be probably slightly stronger in depth.
For Stevenage this year, it's been a mixed bag of results so far, in two games where neither side has scored more than 125. So Ricky will be aiming to give them a nose bleed, if we bat first again this week. The first week they were bowled out for 120 in 40 turgid overs by Frogmore, who then knocked it off without loss in half the time. The following week they bowled out a weak Ware team for 121 and then only reached the target themselves for the loss of 9 wickets in 45 overs. This team is clearly not a quick scoring, 5 an over, side - having not reached 3 an over yet. So maybe, with rain in the air, the toss could be very important.
With a team that is bristling with confidence and a batting line up that gets longer by the game, this Rickmansworth side have no need to fear anyone and only poor weather should stand in the way of another 30 points.
