Ricky record 3rd straight win to go second in the table
Broxbourne 240/9 (50) lost to Ricky 241/8 (37) by 2 wickets
Ricky won the toss and elected to field . Tom and Billy opened the bowling for Ricky on a road of a pitch . Soon Tom took the first wicket after Prasanth took a blinding one handed catch at square leg and with tight bowling from Billy at the other end the batsmen were struggling to score and seemed to bunker down.
Brett and Bobby came in and kept up the pressure with Bobby eventually Taking 3 wickets. Broxbourne were on the ropes at 114 for 6 after 34 overs and Ricky were confident of bowling them out for a low score. Unfortunately with only 4 regular bowlers in the team, the last 10 or so overs almost 90 runs were conceded and Broxbourne were finally able to reach 240 for 9 in 50 overs.
Bobby being pick of the Bowlers with 10-1-38-3, Tom, Billy , Brett, Waheed, Kassar and Boris all contributing with 1 wicket each.
After Tea Boris and Prasanth opened the batting and after Prasanth went early, Bobby arrived at the crease. Both seem to settle down and the runs began to flow. Boris was eventually out for 31. Next in was Kassar, and after a slow start to get his eye in began to open his arms and score freely.
After Bobby was caught out to a great catch on the boundary for 45, runs continued to flow. Ricky were soon at 199 for 4 with still 20 overs to go. After a small hiccup and losing a few wickets with only 2-3 runs needed, Ricky eventually won the game with 12 overs to spare.
Top score was Captain, Kassar with 66, Bobby 45, Boris with 31 and Waheed with 27. Matt and Ben also contributed with 19 and 17 respectively.
The result meant that Ricky move into 2nd place in the table, a promotion spot, and also dramatically increase their run rate difference by +1.7. Only the 2 run defeat to Potters Bar is keeping Ricky from being 4-0 and topping the table.
