Rickmansworth take on Totteridge Millhillians 3rd XI at their new home ground of the Met Police Bushey. TMCC won 7 and lost 10 games last season and struggled a little with the bat, only scoring more than 180 on two occasions. Indeed the 17 batting points they took from those 10 games meant they averaged only a little over 130 on average with the bat when losing, so maybe that's a chance for Ricky to find an opening.
Their first game of 2018 saw them bowled out for 56. But this is a small crumb of comfort as they had already bowled out Old Camdenians for 111 - a team that only lost one game all season. So beware the sticky early season pitches and clearly the TMCC bowlers who know how and where to bowl the ball.
Of course its a new season so maybe they also have some new players and if their 1st XI in the Premier League has recruited well, then the knock-on effect will be a stronger 3rd XI. We can live in hope. But don't be surprised if it's a low scoring affair on Saturday on a pitch that will not have seen much attention over the winter as Bushey Met Police move to football only in the coming years. Dinner Party arrangements set for 8pm will certainly be on the cards.
