In a game played in good spirit, Arkley batted first and were reduced to 36/3 with Tony MacDonald Barker grabbing two wickets. The going was slow, and it wasn't until West Indian ex-premier league player Morgan came to the wicket that the scoring increased above 3 an over. Chris Morris got carted to all parts by Morgan. Callum Cusack bowled with accuracy and pace, taking 3-24, including Morgan. Same Stabler 2-21 and Paul Blackwell 2-0 finished off the tail with 3 wickets falling on 125.
In reply Blackwell anchored the innings with 20, but with only Sam Stabler (14)getting double figures in the top 8, at 43/7 Ricky were facing ignominious defeat. However enter Lord Morris, who decided that every other ball had to go for 6, and set about the Arkley bowling with some gusto. The hits got longer and the lost ball count started to rise. Partnered by Brendan Lindsay (3), they put on an unbeaten 84 partnership to seal the win, with Chris completing the game with another maximum. 12 in total.
And so just like last week, Ricky pulled a victory from the jaws of certain defeat and now march on to the league games on a high.
