Full tosses take wickets as Ricky learnt the Hard way in a 90 run loss
On Paper Ricky 3's had one of its strongest line ups and confidence was high
The pitch was a belter absolute batsman paradise and with the heat the toss was massive
we should of known then that lady luck may not be on our side as i called wrong and was quickly asked to field
Brett and Naeem bowled 11 overs of pace that too be honest was just too good for the Hitchin batsman as ball after ball beat the edge Naeem first 6 overs going for just 9 runs, with no luck and 50 overs to get through the changes were made, this seem to make a difference as 4 quick wickets including an amazing run out thanks to quick thinking from Neil Burdett and Adeel with Hitchins opener not grounding his bat put Ricky in a really strong position, but drop catches misfields cost and Hitchin moved far too easily past 200, i remember words from Chris Horne a few weeks ago about a good captain is proactive not reactive but it seemed everything i tried or whoever i moved the ball would just not drop for us really frustrating, but some great death bowling from Brett and Hannaman kept the score to 228-9 off 50 overs, which i felt we should be chasing 175 at the most but the guys gave everything commitment never in doubt and was a hard 50 overs in the hot sun
Still confident as the pitch was quick but was offering no real support to the bowlers skipper open with Prasanth knowing we had the strength in depth to chase this down, but once again we did the hard work just to throw away good starts with poor shots and arguably shooting ourselves again with bad umpiring decision Ricky lost quick wickets and were 61-5 Matt 22 Raine 17 only ones in the top 5 to score over 10, the tail did its best with Bilal top scoring with 30 Neil 13 Naeem 12 help get Ricky past 100 but again no one went on and the game ended 135 All out
really disappointed a game i felt we should of won but we move on to weeks game vs one of my least favorite team Watford Town. lets bounce back
