4ths fall to defeat against table topping Chorleywood

The 4ths third game of a season against Top of the table Chorleywood came with a batting disappointment. Prasanth won the toss and decided to bat first. Ricky 4s opened with Prasanth and Bobby who were getting their rhythm. Prasanth made 31 and was dismissed. At 47/1 in 12 overs Ricky were well placed to reach 150 or more. Bobby was steady on the bat until a superb catch caused his dismissal. With Neil and Sohan getting out very quickly, Oliver went in. He played a few nice shots until getting caught. Keshav (bowled) and Jack dismissed pretty early on his bat. Chandru was next in and quickly departed for a Run Out. Sam followed . Ali was looking steady and played a couple shots. An unfortunate run out made last bastmen Viren to be dismissed. Ricky 4 collapsed to 74 all out in 28 overs. 27 runs, 9 wickets in 16 overs. A true horror story.

Jack Lee (0-14) and Sam Blake (1-14) opened the bowling with a strong start against a solid Chorleywood side. Prasanth and Chandru continued the next spell. Prasanth took 3 wickets in his 6 overs whilst Chandru bowled well keeping runs down securing 2 maidens in his 6 overs. The Spin duo Sohan And Ali kept the batting very tight taking maidens and dots all around. Keshav following the Bowling standards. Chorleywood's experienced team did look shaky in their first 20 overs losing 4 wickets and scoring 37 runs. But their batters stayed in the crease for another 8 overs to secure a win. Ricky 4s fought well but 74 was too low a score to defend. It was a good team effort and spirit.

Ricky faces Hatch End next. I am sure the wounds will heal and the team will come back fighting for a win.
