With Prasanth away, Neil was asked to captain. He won the toss and decided to bat. With a quick start to the batting scoring 26 in four overs Rumpy and Alec got Ricky off to a good start with Rumpy carving 14 around their slip cordon and Alec sweeping 15, an unfortunate middle order collapse left pressure on Oliver to perform and with a sturdy 23 he led Rickmansworth to 73-6. The first innings was in the balance, however with solid knocks from Chandru (22) and Jack (21) Rickmansworth had what looked like an ok score of 134. But it was a short boundary one side and the game was in the balance.
Tight bowling from openers jack and hanuman kept Harth End to just 10 runs in the first 8 overs. Then it became the Hanuman show with 4-15 off his eight overs leaving nothing out on the pitch and swinging the ball like a banana. Rickmansworth were looking in a strong position. This only followed by Chandru bowling three maidens with 1 wicket and only being hit for 9 runs off his 5. Keshav and Ali Akbar did the youth proud, with Ali bowling some unplayable off spin and taking three wickets for 14 runs and Keshav also stepping up and taking 2 wickets for 12 runs
Amazingly, and much to the delight of the Ricky players, Rickmansworth saw Hatch End out for just 58, sealing off an experienced victory for the mighty Rickmansworth 4th XI. A great team effort - roll on next week
