A bowlers game

The match started with overnight rain and overcast condition and it was a perfect toss to lose for Captain Ken who was asked to bat first.
Darshan Roy (Caught Behind) opening the innings for the first time since his injury 4 weeks ago batted the time for his 17 runs. It was a low scoring match as the outfield and the pitch were very slow and run scoring was very difficult for both teams and pitch became slower and slower as the day progress.

Phil (LBW), Neil (Runout) and Debutant Awas (LBW) went in quick succession and in came Yusuf who belted some lusty blower for top scoring at 20 for the 4th XI.

Prasanth came late to bat at no9 remain 16 not out. There was not much resistance from the tail with Jack hitting some blows. Rickmansworth CC - 4th XI folded for 103 in the 31st over.

With wins under our belt and difficult batting conditions, we felt we had a chance. Key was to field well and bowl on the stumps.
Jack coming back into the 4s and Prasanth opened the bowling. The first scalp went to Prasanth from a wonderful catch point by Dylan and after that it was a ‘Yusuf Show’. Yusuf bowled brilliantly for his five wicket spell. His bowling figure were 6-0-28-5 was the reason Old Camdenians CC folded for a lowly 63. Anuj ably bowled with precise line and length and his bowling analysis was 6-3-7-3 choked the other end with his bowling.

Man of the Match was Yusuf for his top score of 20 and bowling 5-28.

The game was over in a hurry - maybe because both sides wanted to watch the England v/s Ukraine knock out match for the Euro’s 2021.
Despite numerous team changes and multiple players over the last few weeks, the 4s have now won 3 games in a row. Fantastic team effort, fantastic spirt – long may it continue.
