Ricky batted first and despite losing Harrison and Hamza early, the boys set off at a steady pace helped by an excessive amount of wides in the early stages. Young Yusuf Khan showed his class with a steady knock of 25 including 4 quality boundaries and he was helped by debutant Tom Riddle who crashed 3 boundaries in his 25, including a 6 which sailed over the fence as well as the boundary and landed in the footpath. A total of 125/9 was well above average and great to see so early in the season.
The bowling was equally tight as every boy took his turn. Callum bowled 2 overs and took 1-3 with his leg-spin. Ollie 6/0 off his two and Tom 1/4 off just 7 balls. Josh also took 1/3 off one over whilst Hamza struck early taking out numbers 2 and 3 in successive balls to finish with 2-0-8-2.
The boys all perfomed well and man of the match had to go to Tom Riddle on debut with as big a six as anyone has seen in this age group for a while. The lad is about to become a Cricketer.
