LEAGUE RULE CHANGES
Last night was the league AGM and a few changes were proposed. The change of start time and reducing the overs for the 1st team was rejected. But the other divisions were changed so the new playing timings are as follows:
1st XI - 50 overs each, starting at 1pm - capt Ibby
2nd XI - 45 overs each starting at 1pm - capt Sohail
3rd XI - 45 overs each starting at 1pm - capt Paul
4th XI - 40 overs each starting at 1pm - capt Ken

PLAYERS
If you intend to play in 2019 for Rickmansworth, then now is the time to let the club know, and ideally the Captain who you played under mostly in 2018. Also please make sure you are registered with Pitchero to select your availability each week. If you are new to the club please email your details - phone, DOB etc. - to rickmansworthcc@btinternet.com . Please remember 3 of the teams are playing higher up the league this year so we will also need more players for 2019. Good recruitment will be key for us this season. A number of clubs have been strengthening by signing players from their oppositions. We still need players at all levels, especially to replace those of us who are not getting any younger!!

SUNDAYS
There will be a full set of fixtures for Sundays. They will be loaded as soon as possible. We want players to commit to Saturdays, but it is good to get practice on a Sunday as well.

GROUNDS
The pitches and outfields are looking great this year already. Both squares have already had their first trim and light roll, probably a week earlier than usual. And with the removal of the moles from the grounds, we can really set to work on getting a perfectly level outfield for the season. The top field has also been cut back much further this year and we hope to get back all the way to the fence by April. Chris and John have worked tirelessly and have also creosoted the sheds in the last week and cleared all broken trees. We will need to support them fully when the working party day is on.

NETS
These continue at Ricky School on Sundays from 1.15pm to 2.30pm. Everyone is encouraged to attend in March.

2019 is a very exciting year for this club. We are playing at a higher standard than for a number of years and the grounds are looking much better than they did last year. We have invested a good sum on the wickets and want to make Rickmansworth a top-level club in the next 3 years. We have some capable youngsters coming through the ranks and a group of Captains who have over 70 years experience of playing at Ricky between them. This could be the year we return to be Herts Club of the Year. Please play your part and do whatever you can to make it happen.
