U9's fall to stronger local rivals

With boys playing their first ever league game of Cricket, it was always going to be tough for Ricky against a more experienced Chorleywood side. However the boys acquitted themselves well, all contributing and taking part.

Aled scored 3 and Arno 4 (one boundary) in a opening partnership where a couple of wickets was our only disappointment. Oliver and Rian then also did well with Oliver (4) and Rian (5) on debut. Rian didn't lose his wicket at all. Keshav then top scored with 6, whilst Kian was unlucky to lose his wicket once. And then Alec (4) and Thomas (5) brought the innings to a close, again only losing 1 wicket.

Our only lesson was once again to not give away too many wickets and to back up the batsman when taking runs.

In bowling, Arno did well and Aled got a wicket in his first over. Rian and oliver bowled well in tandem, but were a little wayward at times. Keshav and Kian bowled well also, with Keshav taking 2-2 in 3 overs. Whilst Alec got a wicket and Thomas bowled 4 dot balls to finish his over.

Overall a good start for Ricky, but a game that with a bit more practice, they could have done even better in. Better luck next time chaps and we will work on the drills on Saturday.
