Clifton CC 81 all out v Ricky 1st XI 82-2 in 14 overs

Ricky hosting Clifton cc, with the weather being typically unpredictable and chances of rain Ricky Skipper Ibby Hanif won the toss and put Clifton into bat. Wicket suiting bowling and wanting to steam roll the opposition, well thats exactly what happened. Majid showing his magic in his opening spell removing 3 wickets early, this put Clifton on the back foot and put Ricky skipper Ibby Hanif in charge of the game. He did not hesitate to introduce spin early and on came the leading wicket taker of 2018 Naghman (cookie) Latif, he bowled with control and great flight. There were some edges and close call before cookie got his breakthrough, slowly slow wickets were falling and great help from Aliraza who finally found his length and pace and Mazaffar the spin whizz chipped in with a wicket too. Cookie has got his first fifer for the season, standout figures
Majid (Magic) Khan 5-8-3
Naghman (cookie) Latif 10-29-5
Clifton were bowled out for 81 and resistance was only shown from Luke Bridger 24 and Simon Lincoln 19 the only 2 guys to get double figures

Now came Ricky batting and chasing 81 would be a walk in the park for the boys, indeed it was. The old opening pair which was successful in 2018 marched in as crusaders Maz Shah (32) and Murtaza (Taz) Shehabi (25), Maz went on about his business stroking some of his classic shots. Taz was abit watchful and steardy before he flourished and sent few pulls and drives to the boundary line. At 50 after 9 overs Clifton got the breakthrough, LBW decision was given against Taz which was questionable but what can you do. Just walk and get on with the game, this brings an old war veteran of Rickmansworth Ahtsham (Shami) Hussain (22) to the crease. One of the best performers from 2018 played some elegant shots, timing was perfect. With having no nets and match practice he kept hitting the sweet spot Shami and Maz took the game to the final run before Maz got bowled needing 1 run to win. Any how no panic, the new recruit Usman Majid walked in for the final run and they game was finished for 82-2 off 14 overs. The captain could not ask for anything more for a clinical finish.
