The Good The Bad The Very Ugly

I have enjoyed writing match reports thus far but this one pains me, we can blame me for the toss another loss and another where we missed out, we can blame the pitch and its slow variable bounce we can blame posting such a low target we can blame the 6 dropped catches some were quite difficult, and we can blame me for the field placings as every batsman Watford town had came out T20 style, but for me we need to look at the quality we had in the team not acquitting themselves to the job its hard sometimes and we need to work for every run but this week Ricky batsman just seemed to find ways to get themselves out, it started badly with the very first over Second Ball Owen got a ball that kept low and jagged back in which was a reoccurring theme for the top order as Bilal Than Adeel parted and Ricky 3-3 from 4 overs Mr Chairman then showed the others how to bat on the pitch with good technique and watching every ball onto the bat did not look in trouble up to drinks , in this time the Skipper (10)and Ben Alnutt(6) also departed leaving Ricky now 54-5 at drinks, Young Alex Lee also put into a really gutsy display to share this 26 run partnership with the Chairman, then again disaster struck in over just after drinks Wicket Wide Wicket Bye Wicket moved Ricky to 56 -8 and all kinds of trouble, Naeem and Andy then decided to take the fight to Watford Town and went out swinging quickly moving the total up to something near to respectable but Naeem fell (20) to a good catch from Watford Town skipper and Milner (17) last man out LBW to young spinner left us 98 all out
With such a low total the plan was to attack and after ball one being smashed for 6 it did not take a genius to work out how Watford Town would go for this Total, Naeem(1-31) Milner (0-22)Lee(2-16) & Hannaman (3-13) all bowled well but there was just not enough runs on the board especially after the two openers had put on 50 in the first 8 overs but Ricky never gave up and a candidate for catch of the season from Owen racing in from Long on to hold a diving catch, Watford Town got the target 6 down in only the 18th Over
So the Good Owens Catch and the way Mark batted
Bad the rest of the top order getting out
Ugly the way Watford town chased it down hacking and slogging at everything
Another loss looking to another home game next week vs Ickleford to change the momentum
