Ricky gained a rare victory against Chorleywood on Saturday but were made to fight all the way on a tricky batting surface. Having played up the top more than a few times, it can sometimes be a road and sometimes not. With a bit of application and a desire to get on the front foot, it's certainly possible to stay in for as long as you like. Teams with application have rarely struggled. However the Chorleywood batsman were seemingly ill-prepared for the challenge and were themselves the victims of hanging back and playing a little too across the line. The wickets ended up being a little of a procession with only a sturdy 29 from James Fermont showing what could be done. Wickets were shared around amongst those who bowled the straightest.
A quick turnaround saw Jinesh and Scott bat comfortably to take the score to 30/2. Then a couple of loose shots in succession put the pressure back on Ricky before Oz and Jack saw the team home with plenty of time to spare.
