Will the real Gladiator please stand up

Ricky put another nail in the coffin for KPCC with a crushing defeat by 109 runs to push them closer to defeat. However, more intriguing was that KPCC had a Russell Crowe opening the bowling for them, playing against our very own Crowe look-alike Ben Soames. Who would win in this very specialized face-off ! Their Russell got 2-48 whilst Ben got 30 not out. Probably a win for our man I would say.

Earlier, Ricky lost a handful of easrly wickets and were struggling at 52/5 before Waheed (45) and Ronesh (52) put on a half-century partnership in 11 overs. Then the game was further taken away as that man Soames weighed in with his 30 to take the score to 165/6. Another half-century partnership with Ronesh. On the top pitch this is more like 220 and the task was too much for Knebworth as their opening batsman, Wheeler, was the only player to reach doubl-figures. Once Andy Milner and Jack Lee had softened up the ball, it was left to the slower bowlers to take their chances and both Waheed (3-11) and Ronesh (3-18) were happy to fill their boots, despite some stiff resistance from young Catherine Cirkel who smacked 10 before losing his stumps to Mahroof.

A good day out for all and the game was wrapped up by 6pm.
