So after the dust has settled and I have got over a really disappointing defeat, there were so many positives i could not see on Saturday Night so a quick match report from me. The Match started really slowly the Ickleford openers gave nothing to hit and Ricky made stready progress, but another 50 opening partnership from Myself and Vijay set a good base for a good score to be got with the danger bowler bowled out. Ben Soames produced a great knock and was never in trouble throughout his 63* except looking like he was going to pass out, and all singles now turned down unless hit to the boundrey Amieya Prabhaker hit some lovely boundries and did not look out of place at no:3 and to be honest 178 was a good score. We started Well 21-4 we had them and Hannaman was swinging the ball a mile best i ave ever seen him bowl for Ricky with great pace at the other end from Asim should have won the game from this position, but the ball stopped swinging the field got pushed out and the game was too easy the Ickleford their no:3 scored a good 81 but we just did not take our chances. Great to see young Harrison Soames bowl with pace, and they could not get Vijay away Phil croft not having played for Ricky in years the sound of his body creaking after his first over was heard in local Hitchin but got a great wkt with a top ball swinging in for a plumb LBW but under 3 runs needed a over we had to make some changes, and just the usual tied legs and minds of Ricky after 25 overs set in and we wondered from Fielding positions and dropped 2 vital catches.
