1. January Diary

New Year, New Start.

All of the early month's of the year are lead by the weather. In the past I have been unable to get on the ground until April in 2000, but the year before that I was watering the square in February.
January this year is a damp start with most of both outfields very squishy indeed!
This year we have moved both rugby pitches running from left to right on either side of the square at the far end of the ground. This will give us the opportunity to enlarge the top square to the right of the current one in the future.
So far this year I have been cleaning up the grounds and burning off any fallen wood and trimmings from the tree's.

Very slow week because of the winter weather. Paul and I traveled to Hampshire this week to pick up the cover's that we have purchased from a public school near Fleet. Our old friend and hopefully not x-player James Weedon provided the transport to bring our covers to there new home. A bit of work is necessary to smarten them up for the season, but by the time that you see them in April they will look the part.

Snow all week.
