About the team

Welcome to the 2023 season to parents of U11 players at Rickmansworth CC (Year 6 and below). This group also includes boys in the lower years who will also be playing hardball Cricket for the club this year. We look forward to the new season.

Practice sessions and coaching are on Friday nights and start 6.00pm and finish at 7.15pm. This is from Friday 28th April to the end of July. Hardball practice usually involves the nets and the boys will need to bring their own equipment of borrow the club gear. They must wear a ‘box’ whilst batting against a hardball.

If your son is in Year 5 or even 4, and would like to stay playing some incrediball Cricket then this is fine and they can join in with the Year 4/5 practice sessions. As you know I encourage boys to enjoy and express themselves with bat or ball and we don’t mandate they have to play hardball unless they want to.

On Fridays, If the weather isnt good enough (and we dont play in the rain) then I will send out a group message on whatsapp. Make sure you join the group if I have not already put you on it.

In Hertfordshire at U11 age group the games are 8 a side and based on the Hundred Competition which they can see on TV. This means everyone gets to bat and bowl and it’s all about participation.

The fixtures are on the website

I will try to get players playing in at least 75%+ of the games. It’s why we run with small squads.

For coaching and games on Fridays parents are welcome to lend a hand if we are short-staffed, however you can also sit back and watch, with a refreshment from the bar, or leave and come back. For matches, I will need a volunteer scorer and a volunteer umpire. If we can take it in turns that will be great.

Fees – we charge £80 for the whole season which covers all training sessions and matches the boys play in. For second children (siblings) it is just £45 for the season. it is It would be great if you could transfer the money to us quickly and please use your name, or child’s name, as the reference.
