On Saturday Ricky faced a strong Middlesex League team in Harrow Town, who were further bolstered by a group of players from the now defunct Osterley. Ricky chose to bat first and faced an onslaught from a pair of quicks. Snehal fell early to a grubber, but Pradeep was a one man force as the 50 came up with Jaspreet and Pradeep had scored 42 of them. Jas was out for 10 and then Billy May continued his good form, pushing singles around the ground before Pradeep fell for 65 off just 61 balls. His first half-century for the club. Billy and Owen then combined to push for a 50 partnership against some more good bowling and whilst the runs were ticking along, and both looked comfortable, very much like the middle overs of a one-day international. With 8 overs to go both Billy (39) and Owen (21) got out when trying to push on and 145/3 turned into 160 all out as the remaining Ricky batsmen all played shots trying to push on, but failing in the process.

The Osterley/Harrow batters quickly showed their class despite some testing bowling by Harvey and Shiv, both who beat the bat. A 50 opening partnership was only broken when Pradeep came on to bowl and grabbed two quick ones. Jaspreet then bowled Toraab for 4, and there was hope the oppo might collapse, but they dug in firm and a wicket each for Hanu and Waheed only came when the game was effectively won. Harrow finished on 171/5 with 11 overs to spare. Special mention to James Haines who impressed with his easy flowing bowling action and sharp fielding. Certainly a good season ahead for him.

MOM - Pradeep

It was a great workout for the players against a much higher ranked team. Already in the 2 warm-ups Pradeep and Billy have shown their class and the players from the lower teams have played their part in making for good contests. Next week it is Eastcote away.
