After losing Owen early, Paul and Ameed inched along to a 60 run 2nd wicket partnership, which then gave a good base for Mark Raine and the rest of the middle order to power along to 180.
Amazingly this proved far too much for Allenburys who, on reaching 50/5 after 20 overs, decided to block out the remaining 27 overs for just another 58 runs. Neel took one wicket and Brendan 3 more, but the lack of fight from the Allenburys batsmen was more than disappointing. Even when only needing 4 an over to reach the first batting points, they refused to wield the willow and played out maiden after maiden.
A good Saturday afternoon spoiled one might say. But 12 points to Ricky and 3 points to Allenburys was just deserts as only one team tried to win the game.
