Ricky lose again despite Cooper heroics

Season's turn on a sixpence and so do games of Cricket. After 4 games Ricky were top of the table and looking for promotion. Now they are 3rd from bottom and looking relegation candidates as yet again the usual performers failed to deliver. At 40/5, with Brett Harvey on fire, the OC's team should have folded, however, Lethbridge scored 95 and veteran Paul Sherry 20 to enable OC's to post 209/9. Brett finished with 5-64

With batting all the way down, this total shouldn't have presented a problem, however the Ricky batsmen made a procession of it with only Adeel (28) and Raz (18) making any kind of effort to keep wickets in hand. At 75/8 the team was looking down the barrel, however big Dave Cooper decided to go on the offensive and, well supported by Brett Harvey (10) initially, and then Phil (5*) he put on 47 for the 9th wicket and 46 for the 10th. Dave was last man out for a career best 75, which was only 3 less than the rest of the team put together. This was probably some kind of record in terms of percentage of the teams overall score.

If this was a School report, the notes on the bottom would be clear "Must Do Better". Otherwise relegation is a serious probability, especially with all the top teams still to play.
