Stevenage III 191-8 (50) Rickmansworth II 167-10 (42.3)

So Ricky finish the season where they began, in Division 7B. After flirting with promotion early in the season, a general lack of availability in the 1st team meant that key players were unable to stay with the team and keep up a challenge against either Hatch End 1st XI, or the depth of Potters Bar 3rd XI. However, there were some great performances in the first half of the season and Ricky can take heart that next year will be another chance for a promotion push.

In this last game of the season, the difference between the teams was the Stevenage no4, Parmar, who scored the best batting total by far of 79 to ensure his team finished on a decent 191/8. Earlier Brendan had bowled remarkably tightly conceeding just 12 runs in 10 overs, whilst the opening bat carried his bat for the whole innings for just 36 not out. He hit 3 boundaries in 138 balls. Lekshay and Kamran also took a pair of wickets each.

Ricky's reply, with a makeshift team, was well structured but fell away as regular wickets were lost. Kasser gave everyone a chance to bat, however it was only the ever reliable Bobby and Boris who got into the 30's, whilst nobody else topped 15. With only 5 of the team that comfortably beat Stevenage in the 1st game, it was always going to be hard to repeat that famous victory and so it proved.

Well done to all who played and who gave Ricky some early hope. We will strengthen for next year and go again.
