Rickmansworth II vs Potters Bar III - 31 Aug 2013

With Benn Glazier some where up Kathmandu, the Marc and Mark took over the second team and lead them to a very easy win over an under strength Potters Bar 3rd XI.

Potters Bar won the toss and decided to bat on a firm Rickmansworth wicket.

Milner and Robinson opened the bowling and were spot on straight away and Potter's made a slow start 22 from 8 over's. Milner then floated in a full toss on middle stump that should have been slapped for four only for the opener Rupert Pyrah to lob a catch to Jeza Riddleston who for a second looked surprised and could have dropped it, but he did not.

Little did we know that we had opened the door to Potters Bar's tail. As Milner then stung like a butterfly and bowled batsmen three and four in the next over.

Marc Robinson then joined the party with an excellent ball that found the edge of batsmen five and an excellent slip catch from Rory Cusack and then he bowled out six and seven.

With the captain Raine sensing an easy winner he bought on Brett Harvey and Ajay Thakur to get everybody involved. Brett showed he is a second team player now fit and Ajay showed his normal line and length.

Brett and Ajay cleaned up with a three over spell from Ronesh that should have gained him a wicket but no Riddleston fluffed his lines at long on.

All in all a good bowling effort and an excellent decision to have no long on so we had a target otherwise Potters Bar would have been out for 50, instead we were chasing 87.

Rory and Jeza opened and quickly set about the opening bowlers until Rory missed a straight on and was bowled for 11. Jeza was then dropped and finally went for a quick and breezy 21. Vish was in normal form and smashed a quick 25 with a cameo for Adeel who scored 11.

We wrapped it up throwing away a couple of wickets in 17.1 over's.

A good result against poor opposition.
