Top of the table made to work for 12th straight win

Potten End were the Visitors this week and with all the drop outs and lack of due to holidays left the skipper confident this would be the quickest game of the season (if we batted first)
Ricky had a player swap as Injured Taz came and Mr Chairman sent to the ones
I have previously only one won toss all year and i thought this one was crucial as Potten End had already racked up 400 runs 3 times this season so when the stand in skipper called wrong i quickly elected to bat
The game started Nicely Taz looked at home on the top pitch against probably the quickest bowler in the Lower Divisions and set a good opening stand with Rory of 29 before Rory departed picking out the only fielder on the leg side, then the usual Ricky 3's wobble which has happened nearly every week losing quick wickets leaving Ricky 47 for 6
Pondering what was for tea and if we would be asked to turn straight round, Ricky did the unthinkable and put the Potten end Bowling to the sword, a team that has bowls most teams out for fun were starting to get annoyed and argue as the Ricky Batsman continued to score runs Roshan 27 Neil 18 Trigger 13 all scoring but with his first game of the season for Ricky young Andy Cull played sensible for his 51 bring his half century up with a massive 6. Ricky had managed a more than respectable 173 and had a outside chance of doing the unthinkable.
Potten End came out firing looking to knock these off quickly but Brendan had other ideas and with Taz at the other end playing some unplayable deliveries taking two early wickets leaving Potten end 35-2, knowing they were in a scrap Potten end sent out there best two batsman at 3 and 4 and probably the best two in the league and played sensible keeping ahead of the run rate whilst not giving any real chances, trying to push the score up Ricky finally got Akhtar for 59 cleaned bowled by Taz but the damage was done Potten only needed another 20 more runs which Gurney made sure they got with a 68* and a real classy innings not giving any chances to Ricky
We lost by 6 wickets but i think i had the biggest smile as we gave everything and almost upset the top of the table
On to Hatfield next week knowing we now need to win 3 out of the last 5 games to guarantee survival
