Teamwork makes the dreams work

Ricky ventured to unbeaten Southgate Compton who already looked the team to beat with 3 out of 3 wins in the league so far. The sun was shinning on a beautiful little ground and we all hoped Adeel could win the toss and Bat, as the pitch looked a belter and did not fancy having to field in this weather, Adeel did his team proud winning the toss, but now had the hard part with 8 recognized batsman and 4 usual openers what would be his batting line up. Kasser and Amir opened and it was not long to see why Southgate C were top of the league with both openers on the money straight away causing lots of problems, Aamir was first to go trying to cut a rare wide ball, Aamir was not happy with the desicion as looked to be ground first but had to walk as given out, This brought Raz to the crease who has started the season really well looking far to good for Div 10, and this good form was to continue and with Kasser started to build a platform and seeing off the opening bowlers without giving any chances with the score on 48 Kasser trying to increase the run rate and was stumped for a very good 29, This was the first of 3 stumpings for Southgate's wicket keeper who was one of the best players i have seen behind the stumps. Chris 24 then Adeel 30 kicked on with Raz and formed good partnerships playing sensible cricket whilst pushing the score along nicely. When Adeel fell at 151-3 Ricky had wickets and 10 overs to really push 220 what was deemed PAR for this pitch, but as always Ricky hit the self destruct button and with 3 run outs and a Ra finally being stumped for a really classy 72 Ricky were suddenly 180-8 and with a few big shots from Azhar crawled to 192 all out. Ricky felt disappointed as the came in for Lunch.
Then what happened was quite remarkable, Ricky came out firing and gave absolutely everything in the field to back the amazingly accurate bowling of Ricky. Azhar 0-19 tied the opening pair in Knots and a player who scored freely in Div 3 last year could not get him of the strip, he was well backed up by Waheed 2-25 Raz 2-16 and Aamir 1-45. The bowling was so tight that at the 2nd drinks break 30 overs Southgate had only scored 80 runs and now needed over 7 and over. Adeel continued to keep mixing the bowlers up and himself bowling 6 overs for just 10 runs with some fantastic lines and lengths Ricky kept constant pressure on and Ricky saw out a great win by 31 runs. Great team effort the committed the team gave was amazing even with most of the team fasting made it even more special
Fun Moment of the match: Chris asking Vijay to run his hat off and Vijay deciding to throw it to the boundry just as a gust of wind appeared and took the hat out the ground and never to be seen again. so funny
