About the team

Welcome to the 2026 season to parents of U11 players at Rickmansworth CC (Year 6).

Practice sessions and coaching are on Friday nights and start 6.00pm and finish at 7.15pm. This is from late April to the end of July. Hardball practice usually involves the nets and the boys will need to bring their own equipment of borrow the club gear. They must wear a ‘box’ whilst batting against a hardball.

Boys in Year 4 and 5 can be considered for this team, however as we have a hardball group at u10 level, we would like boys to stay in their real age group as much as possible. This is based on ECB guidance. Playing up a year or 2 does not enable a boy to develop to his full age-appropriate potential and to push on to represent Herts County, Area or District teams.

On Fridays, If the weather is not good enough (we don't play in the rain) then we will send out a group message on whatsapp. Make sure you join the group if you are already put you on it.

We have entered 2 Hertfordshire competitions this year

  • An 11 a side T20 format division where boys are out if out and bowling is restricted. This is very competitive
  • An 8 a side 100 based format where everyone bats and bowls equally and it is inclusive for all skill ranges. This is about participation and improvement

The coaches will do their best to ensure as many players as possible get an equal amount of games, whilst giving our 11 a side team the best chance to win a competitive league.

The fixtures will be on playcricket and this website

For coaching and games on Fridays parents are welcome to lend a hand if we are short-staffed, however you can also sit back and watch, with a refreshment from the bar, or leave and come back. For matches, we will need a volunteer scorer and a volunteer umpire. If we can take it in turns that will be great.

Fees – you will already be aware of these on membermojo when they are published. Every boy is entitled to some free 1-2-1 coaching as well.

As always, any questions or comments, please contact your usual coach contacts which for this age group is Matt and Christian.
