Having struggled for the last few years, Ricky's stronger players are now coming to the fore, as they take their Saturday game into these midweek Under 15 league games. And with the addition of players such as Keshav and Rayyan, these boys are really showing what they are capable of.
Having loss the toss the u15s were asked to Bowl. Sam and Josh opened up taking a couple of wickets between them and keeping the run rate at just around 5. Viren began with a wicket maiden, Ethan bowled tight and didnt let many extras go. Ollie and Todd bowled 4 between them and picked up a couple of wickets as the Leverstock Green batsman struggled to get many shots away. Aled picked up 2 wickets in the final 4 overs, with some top ground fielding keeping the score to just 108.
Jack and Rayyan opened the reply and began with some quick running between the wickets to get the u15s going. Jack departed for a solid few runs and brought 4th XI star Ollie to the crease who settled in with Rayyan. Both brimming with confidence and prepared to hit the large boundaries with ease. Most notably Ollies straight drive for 6 and Rayyans cover drives that were Joe Root-esque. Quicky racking the score up to 80, Ollie departed surprisingly for just under 30 and Rayyan had to retire with 33. Sam and Ethan then were at the crease looking to finish the game quickly with more boundaries. Ethans first 3 balls were 6, 4 and 4. It was like Ben Stokes on the charge. The u15s chased it down easily within 15 overs, this win sees them still top of the table after 5 games.
Lots to be happy with and onto the next game. These boys are doing us proud.
