With lots of extra players available and a number of youngsters not getting a game Ricky decided to host a Fifth 11 game for the second time this season. To match the record-breaking weekend that it was, the Rickmansworth side consisted of FOUR father and son combinations, for the first time in a competitive game.
In a further attempt to establish a new record all the bowlers used by Rickmansworth were under 16 apart from Matt Iveson, Who first played for the club almost three decades ago - as an under 16.
It was of course Iveson Senior who got the first wicket with the score on 20 and after this Rickmansworth continued to plug away taking regular wickets. Under 13 Star Hamza Shehabi took two wickets and Matthews son Josh (Iveson Junior) a further three as RCC’s fielding was also on the money throughout. 87 was the target set by Abbots which was modest, but we only had 4 players who had played Saturday cricket for Ricky before.
Rayyan started with a punishing 19, and some glorious boundaries, and whilst the younger lads contributed smartly and with maturity they couldn't quite see Ricky home on their own. Ethan and Kevin scored 13 and 14, before Rod and Paul saw the team home with wickets and overs to spare. The team then relaxed in the sun and watched the 4th team demolish Boxmoor and greeted other returning sides to the club.
