Langleybury won the toss and batted first. A tough start for the Ricky bowlers with the opposition umpires being extremely unreasonable on wides. However a combination of Andy and Nikhil did a great job of taking wickets.

Following up were the youngsters Izzy and Max (both under 14s) who bowled brilliantly with Izzy effecting a great run out with only one stump to aim at.

The veterans Bobby, Kevin and Mark then bowled well to restrict Langleybury to 171-8 off their 40 overs.

With the chase on Rishil and Kevin got Ricky off to a solid start before Kevin was bowled for 7. With the required run rate starting to climb, Manish hit a quick fire 18 before Bobby (29) and Max (33 not out) upped the run rate. Andy then saw the game home with Max by hitting 10 in two balls. A Ricky win reaching the target in 37 overs. A great team performance with everyone contributing to the win.

This match was also a first for a number of reasons

1) 1st 5ths league win ever
2) 1st girl (Izzy) to play Saturday league cricket for Rickmansworth
3) 3 sets of dads and their kids in the same team.

The future is very bright for Rickmansworth as the youngsters continue to impress.
